Responsibilities include preparing the restaurant and function rooms, to welcome diners and hotel guests, and to serve food.Skills learnt include handling complaints, resolving problems before they happened, and working in small teams under pressure.

Volunteer Construction Work (3 weeks)The Gambia, 2010

Responsibilities include constructing wind turbines to provide a free, clean energy source for the residents of the Kartong. The skills I learnt were passed on to the Gambians so they could continue building turbines in the future.Skills learnt include problem solving in a foreign environment, working under the pressures of the climate and a small time scale, teamwork, communicating ideas, and teaching.

Activities & Interests

Outside of architecture, my other great interest is music. I play the piano, guitar, mandolin and accordion and I am always keen to learn new instruments, which is a process I find really rewarding.
