6 AdvancedpediatricphysicaltherapyII:Thiscourseprovidesin-depthexplorationoftheassessmentandinterventionproceduresusedwithchildrensufferingfrommusculoskeletalandcardiopulmonarypathologies.Thestudentswillapplytherelevantknowledgeofanatomy,physiology,biomechanics,genetics,pharmacology,pathology,andchildpsychologytoevaluationandtreatmentplanningforthechildrenwithsuchpathologies.Studentswillbeacquaintedwithsomeoftheissuesrelatedtopediatricphysicaltherapypractice,e.g.cardiorespiratoryfitnesstraining;rehabilitationtechnology;earlyintervention;specialeducation;schools;sportssettingsfortheschool-agedchild;assistivetechnology;augmentativecommunicationandothertechnologies;pediatricintensivecareunit;highriskinfant;incubators;pediatricleukemia;others.Thecoursefocusesonevidence-basedexaminationandinterventionofchildrenwithdisabilitieswithinthecontextofchild,family,andenvironmentalfactors.Theimportanceoffamilycenteredcare,parentchildinteractions,grouptherapy,andplayareexplored.Thiscourseincludeslaboratorysessionsthatwillfocusonhands-onevaluation/managementtechniquesfortheconditionsrelatedtothepracticeofpediatricphysicaltherapyinmusculoskeletalandcardiopulmonarypathologies.
