WhenfoundingQTRCO,Ed’sintentwastodesignandbuildactuatorsthatsimplydidnotencounterfieldserviceissues.Fromaveryruggedmechanicaldesign to elimination of normal failure modes—slidingparts,sideloadforcesandnumerousseals—theQTRCOactuatorshaveevolvedintoexactlywhatEdhadinmindthosemanyyearsago.

Ouractuatorsconsistentlydemonstratetheabilitytotakeonthemostextremeapplicationsandlastforincrediblylongperiodsoftime.QTRCOcustomersreportyearsofservicewithnofailuresandmaintainingoperationswithnolossinproduction time.

OFFSET CYLINDERS Eliminate internal side forces presentinRack&Pinionstyle actuators,reducingfrictionlosesand failures due to abrasion.

Incorporating a simple Tag Out-LockOutdeviceformultiplepadlocksenablesconfirmationthatallworkershavecompletedtheirtasksandareoutofharmswaybeforetheactuator is once again able to cause valve motion.

ACTION REVERSAL: AS EASY AS TURNING THE ACTUATOR TOP SIDE DOWN! Bothsidesoftheactuatorare identicalinallaspects.Unlikeotheractuatorsthatrequiredisassemblyforactionreversal,QTRCOactuatorshavedualmountingcapabilitiesandneedonlybeturnedtopsidedowntoreversetheiraction.

Pressureappliedtotheendcapspushesthepistonsinwardcompressingthespringswhichcausescounterclockwiseshaftrotationinthefirstviewandclockwiseshaftrotationinthesecond.QSseriesactuatorshaveafemaledoublesquaredriveandtheFSseriestwokeyways90degreesaparttoreadilyaccommodatetheaction reversal.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE – ENGINEERED FOR LOWEST COST

EaseofmaintenanceisdifficulttodiscussbecauseitinfersthatyoumayactuallyneedtomaintainaQTRCOactuator,whichisunlikely.However,youdomaintainourcompetitors’actuators,eitherbyreplacementorrepair,(wehavewitnesseduserswithmanyactuatorswithnearassemblylineoperationssetupjustforactuatorrepair)anditisimportanttoexplainthedifferences.

Ifyouneverneedtorepairtheactuator,yousavelabor,equipmentandmostofall:downtime.Whenyoudorepairanactuator,youbeginbyremovingitfromthevalveusingateamofspeciallytrainedtechnicians,perhapsusingrentedcranes,followedbycompletedisassemblyperhapstoreachasimplelittlefailedseal.

Youfindyouneedtopurchasetheproprietarysealfromtheoriginalsupplieratanoutrageouspriceandyouwaitfordelivery.Allthewhileyourplantisdown,becausetheywon’tprovidetheinformationthatwouldallowyoutobuylocallyatreasonableprices.

QS AND FS ACTUATORS ARE DESIGNED TO MOUNT DIRECT TO USER’S VALVES Forbracketsbutwiththeflexibilitytochangemountingpatternstomatchthevalvegeometryortoreplicatethemountingand/oraccessorydrivegeometryofacompetitor’sactuators.
