Disciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in MissionDisciples in Mission
In today’s second reading, St. Paul reminds us of our responsibility as disciples saying, “Stir into a flame the gift of God that you have…” When we feel that we do not have the courage to speak about Christ to others, Paul also reminds us that “God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love…” When the disciples were worried about their mission they turned to Jesus and asked for an increase of faith. How about us? Will we take God’s word to heart and share it with courage?

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Collaborative Book Club
Our next Collaborative Book Club will meet on Tuesday, October 22,
2019 at 7pm at the St. Francis of Assisi
Dining Hall
Our next book to read and share in discussion is:
Everybody Needs to Forgive Somebody
A note from the book’s author, Dr. Allen Hunt, who is a team member at Dynamic Catholic:
We have a limited number of copies of the book available for purchase at our office at a discounted rate of $3.00.
If you are interested in joining the Collaborative Book Club, please contact the Parish Office to sign up. We look forward to seeing you!
“Forgiveness will unleash a power in your life that is underrated and often ignored. It is underrated mainly because it is underused. We fail to capture the power of forgiveness because we are afraid of it, because we have grown comfortable in our familiar wounds, or because we are sinfully stubborn. But the power is there waiting for us.
The lesson is simple: Give forgiveness and you will unleash a flood of grace on yourself and on those around you. When you clench your fists and grit your teeth in anger toward someone, you have no room in your heart for God to place His hand in yours. Replace your clenched fist with an open hand and watch as God fills your soul to overflowing.
This little book, and the twelve real-life stories in it, will help you capture
the power of forgiveness in your life. Because everybody needs to forgive
somebody.”

Anniversary of D-Day, this year's program is dedicated to All Those
Who Serve...and to service in all of its forms…, and will once again consist of a varied program of sacred, classical
and popular selections.
There will be a luncheon in the social
center following the concert, catered by Carroll's Restaurant in Medford (kindness of parishioner, Attorney
Victor Garo). When you arrive for the concert, you will receive a voucher
