investigation, such as in identifying features shown in micrographs/diagrams and relating them to the

knowledge learned (Paper 1B Q.3 and Q.6(d)), analysing results and providing clear and logical

explanations (Paper 1B Q.6(a) and Q.9(a)), and drawing valid conclusions based on the given results (Paper

1B Q.8(b)). He/she also handled questions set on both familiar (Paper 1B Q.2, Q.3 and Q.5(a)) and

unfamiliar situations competently (Paper 1B Q.4, Q.5(b), Q.8 and Q.9). In the essay type question (Paper

1B Q.11), he/she was able to select relevant knowledge and use scientific terminology to communicate

ideas effectively and provide a clear and logical presentation.
