School Newsletter Message from the Principal

We have just gathered mid-year assessment data on every student at Bruns, and we

are encouraged by the growth that our students are making this year. We believe

that we are on target to reach our goal of increasing our EOG scores by 10% points

this year! Our teachers are busy analyzing their students’ TRC, MAP, and quarterly

assessment data to ensure that all of our children are meeting their goals.

We will be celebrating Black History Month throughout the month of February.

Today I am inspired by this quote from Jesse Owens:

“We all have dreams. In order to make dreams come to reality, it takes an awful lot

of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.”

Our staff and students will continue to display determination, dedication, self-

discipline, and effort to support meeting our goals this year.

Monthly Character Traits Each month, we highlight a character trait as a school. School coun-selors provide classroom lessons on the character trait, and we highlight students who exhibit the character traits during our weekly assemblies.

For the month of February, our character trait is caring.

Your child will be participating in interactive classroom guidance lessons and creating "Cards of Caring" to demonstrate their appre-ciation of others. Your child will have the opportunity to personally deliver a card to a person of their choice. In our school, caring is a rule!

On Friday, January 18, students celebrated their positive behavior with an afternoon of popcorn and dancing. Students were able to cash

in their LiveSchool points to participate.
