Today we have a mixed lot for you.

The first are five doublets, beautiful blues and greens for only $30 each. You won't buy such large and beautiful doubletsanywhere for that money today.

There's a Painted Lady that looks like Ayers Rock (Uluru is the native Aboriginal name for it). That's approximately 40mmx 28mm, it weighs .239oz and is only $95. It's over 1" square with lots and lots of colour. It could be used as a pendant, many cutters would want to cut it up. Just in the bottom right hand corner there's a beautiful stone that's nice and red. I'dprefer it to be kept as it is though.

There are two beautiful semi black stones that could be really used as a pair, they weigh 8.27 grams. The larger stone isdouble sided. A good cutter would split that and just double the money by the cutting ability that he possessed. Thesmaller stone is very thick and again can be split. The dark bit is really just about black and underneath it you can cutthrough a very thick red bar and make two stones. For only $225 I think you'd have to agree that's a bargain.

There's a 19ct Matrix opal, this is a beauty, it's been cut and polished, it is an ideal shape for a pendant. It is double sidedand has some beautiful unique lines running through it. Some of them are greyish and then there's a big beautiful blackline that runs through both sides of the stone and really sets it off. If this were a black opal from Lightning Ridge and don'tthink I am suggesting it is, it isn't, if this were a solid Lightning Ridge black you'd be looking at a minimum of $2,000. If Icould only have one item out of this Offer, I think for the real beauty, I'd go for this Matrix stone.

For value I think I'd go for the doublets and of course if I were a beginning cutter I'd go for the 12oz Mixed tumbled opal for$195 that I am yet to come to.

The treated Matrix 2.15oz for only $495 is a bargain, it's approximately 1.75" x 1.25" and is 1"' thick, it has been treatedbut part of the treatment has been polished off and you can see the natural stone. This is so bright that if you were to cut itin its natural state it would come out looking like a magnificent piece. As a specimen it is gorgeous just as it is but those ofyou who are cutters will want to cut it. In the past we have sold material like this at $400/oz so for only $495 and 2.15ozthis really is a bargain.

There are three lots of tumbled rough opal that you'd go a long way to find for these prices. The 12oz for $195 is only$16.25/oz, where are you going to buy opal with colour for that little amount. The small stones are very very nice you couldjust about put a bell cap on any one of them as they are and sell them as pendants.

There are two other bags of tumbled opal, first is 2.5oz of Mixed opals for only $180. You have to remember that this opalhas been cleaned, classed, tumbled and has little or no waste. There's a black opal with a lovely bright bar runningthrough it in this grade and there are a number of semi black stones. Each stone will cut a stone and there are 22 stones,so with the bag costing only $180 each opal averages only $8.18. If you were to go out to the opal fields and noodle up theopal yourself it would cost you more than that for accommodation and petrol but then again would you be lucky enough tofind 2.5oz, probably not.

The more I look at the 3.5oz Mixed tumbled stones for only $295 the more I realise that the old miner who had stored thismaterial away for a rainy day isn't really up with the modern day prices. This is a wonderful grade, many of these opals areready to set, just put a bell cap on them and you will have a lovely little pendant. Some of you may want to recut some ofthe opals in here. There's a beautiful translucent blue green crystal that when faceted, if one were to facet it, would bevalued at $100 by itself. There are also some black opals and dark base in here. If you make jewellery this is the bag foryou, there's every colour of the rainbow in it.

It is with pleasure that we offer you these lovely 8 grades of opal.
