To gain a better understanding of how Filamentality can be used as an instructional and learning tool.

To learn how to create an online student activity (Internet Hunt) using Filamentality.

To gain the skills and confidence to train peers in creating a student activity.

To learn how Internet resources build the foundation to better activities.

To understand how Bloom’s taxonomy plays an important role in developing effective activities.

3

Tasks at Hand

Short term goal (today)• Create an online student activity using

Filamentality. • Universe: Earth and Mars

• Learn how to use the training materials. Long term goal

• Using online resources, create student projects

• WebQuest

4

Today’s Agenda

Creating a new hotlist.Creating an online student activity.Learning how to use the training materials.

5

K-3 Learning Continuum

As the result of Camp Connect professional development, the PDSCCs will• Acquire technology skills and strategies to integrate

technology into the daily curriculum;• Learn how to integrate various online resources and

tools into the 3rd grade science curriculum; • Understand how to create student science activities

and projects; and• Provide support and training to peers at their schools.

6

Training Options

Option 1: Use the tutorial (Slides 8-20) to introduce them to how to create the hotlist and the hunt. Then train them live while in Filamentality.

Option 2: Going live into Filamentality, use the activity sheet to guide them through the development process.
