MAKING ENVELOPES BY Mrs. Surekha B. Mali

.Cut your paper of choice into a square measuring 8 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.

.Place the ruler diagonally on the paper from corner to corner. Use a pencil to lightly place a mark on the paper at the 6-inch line on the ruler.

.Make two diagonal folds, on opposite corners of the paper, into the center. Make sure each tip touches the center mark. Run your finger along each fold to create a crisp crease.

.Fold the bottom corner up to half an inch above the center point. Run your finger along the fold to create a crisp crease.

.Fasten the bottom fold to the first two diagonal folds by placing a piece of double-sided tape on each side. Use glue as an alternative to the tape.

.Fold the top corner down so it overlaps the center point by half an inch. Run your finger along the fold to create a crisp crease. The finished envelope measures 5 1/2 inches by 5 ½ inches

.Place the contents of your envelope into the envelope and fasten with a sticker.

.Write the address on the front of your envelope and add postage.
