DESCRIPTION

I created a website ( http://JulieWillYouMarry.me ) to propose to my girlfriend Julie in July 2011 and after it making it to the front page of reddit… it became somewhat of an internet sensation. This slide show discusses some of the reasons it might have spread so far.

We met online, so I proposed online.

Moments from our past and present were combined with our hopes for the future.

With the help of a amazing illustrator, the story came to life.

She never once picked her nose!

My intention was not just to propose, but to create an artifact to share with family and friends.

Since the site was honest, authentic and transparent, it allowed others to sculpt their own meaning through how they shared.but let’s ask Julie. Does she buy it?

“Good point, Julie.”

“Nah, people probably shared it just because we are so ridiculously good looking.”

Happily Ever After, etc...
