Google the company and then click on “News”.

Check company’s social media pages (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube).

Check company’s annual report (called 10-K in US for public companies).

ResearchThe Interviewer

Google the person I am going to talk to.

Social Media research: At the minimum check their LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube profile.

Check interviewer’s blog (if applicable).

If offered a role, what 3 problems will I be solving for them?

What is my unique value proposition for this role?

Why should they hire me?

Look Closer

What problem does this company solve?

What problem does the group/team hiring me solve?

What Products, Solutions or Services does this company and my group offer?

Research For Connections

A LinkedIn search for my target company and my target role. (To identify people whom I may consider approaching for advice)

Deliberate search (LinkedIn, Google,..) for people who could help make an introduction or even recommend. (Example – school alumni working at the same company)
