Chernee’s Fashion Picks: What to Wear for

Interview Success (For Women)

Make the best first impression with a classic suit in navy blue, gray, or black. It can be stylized for an interview with ruffled collar striped shirt (Banana Republic $59.50) or a colorful sleeveless cowl neck top (Ann Taylor $48). Don’t forget to add the belt!

On those warm days, you can wear a dressy sleeveless blouse under your suit coat to stay comfortable. (Right: New York & Company $ 36.95, Left: Ann Taylor $78)

Steer clear of fun scarves that hide your neck. Also, avoid clothes that are too casual.

Try not to be too trendy for the interview with the shirt untucked and rolled up sleeves. Keep the blazer or suit coat conservative looking.

Add a bit of style with a pencil skirt to your interview ensemble. (Left: New York & Company $32.95, Center: Ann Taylor $108, Right: Banana Republic $79.50)

Even if it’s hot outside, avoid those dressy shorts and showing too much leg!

For a second interview, look sophisticated in a simple sheath or shirtdress dress that is universal for any business occasion. Also, spice up your dress with a cardigan and a fashionable necklace or a belt. (Left to right: Banana Republic $150, The Limited $89.50, Ann Taylor $178, Macy’s $89)

You can also make your second interview outfit a bit more fun & funky, but keeping it business casual.

Even with a blazer, strapless dresses are a No-No. And watch out for those plunging necklines!
