Documentary

Here we added the second question of our vox pops and started to create our opening titles

We then started to cut our footage so that we could create our montage. We then added a music bed underneath which relates to our footage

Found more fears to use as part of our montage

Next we finished cutting our footage to finish our montage of fears and we then cut the psychologists question about what fear is

Added graphics to the psychologist question, mentioning his name and relevance to the topic

We added spider footage over the interview question to make it more visually interesting. After the psychologist answer, we began to create a spider montage to use before the spider interviews. We then added a music bed underneath which connotes fear.

Added our title to our title sequence with a wipe effect so that the title follows the direction of the spider. Then we added a dip to white at the end so the title would stay on longer

We then cut up the spider interviews so that you wouldn’t be able to hear the questions asked

Added graphics to each of the interviewee’s who was interviewed for a fear of spiders. Name and relevance and the colour red used as it was popular during our audience research

We had to add an effect to the beginning of one of the answers as there was a clicking sound, so the effect got rid of it

We cut up the hypnotherapist interview but we did not use it in the end as we could not find somewhere relevant to use the answers

Next we cut up the first answers from our vox pops to show that there are loads of different types of fears

As a group we decided that we needed another montage before the vox pops because it didn’t make sense, so by doing another montage we could put in a voiceover explaining that there are lots of fears. We then just used the same song as our first montage

The next thing we did was add a short montage of clips of the Anglican Cathedral to show that we were moving onto another fear and we could then put a voiceover over it. Then we began to cut up Aislynn’s interview

Added graphics of the interviewee’s name and relevance to the topic. We did all the graphics the all in the same font, colour, size and length of time on screen so that it follows the codes and conventions

Next the rest of the answers were cut and put in place, with cutaways of the Cathedral over-lapping answers to avoid jump cuts

One of the last things we had left to do was to add the voiceover we recorded before each new section so that the documentary all ties together

As we finished our documentary we had to shorten the size of the video and process it
