2 And how you can apply that in the future.

MAKING YUOR OWN VIDEOSEquipment, a few rules and some general approach

CAMERA PHONE + LAPTOP = ALL YOU NEED!It’s not always about beautyful imagery. It’s first of all about the idea!

CANON G12£ 233

IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BUY A CAMERA.Buy a small camera, that you’ll actually use.

EDITINGiMovie is fine, but the latest versions of Final Cut are just as easy to use, so why not start there?

iMovie Final Cut Aftereffectseasy/cheap easy/expensive animation

PRODUCTION TIPSSound: Noise is your enemy. Avoid shooting in traffic and crowded rooms. If you want to record voice, see if you can borrow a good mic.

Light: You can never get enough light! Borrow Katy’s lightbox, it’s amazing!

RULESThere are many rules, but as with anything else, they can be broken! Here’s two you will want to keep in mind.

1. Keep your video >1min 50 sec.2. Don’t try to tell more than one core message.

STEPS1. Pre-production (Define video, draw up storyboard & plan production)2. Production (Direct and shoot your footage)3. Post-production (Edit and reshoot)

EXERCISE 2:PLAN A VIDEO OF YOUR OWN.Make new teams and start planning around the brief you recieve. You have 10 minutes to produce a storyboard you can share with the class!
