Why do we like social media?

• A way of engaging more people with the mission• Could drive more collaborative working

• leading edge, innovation– “the first AEC membership organisation...”– “edgy”– could be used to deliver projects better

• It’s quite easy to get started, and quite motivational...

• ...OK, and we’re geeky

• Right media choice– informal and immediate vs formal and considered– still too much broadcasting, not enough true engagement
