History

1960: Bajaj Auto became a public limited company. Rahul Bajaj becomes the Indian licensee for Vespa scooters.

1970: A number of new models were introduced. The company had produced 100,000 vehicles having an annual turnover of Rs 72 million at that time.

1977 :The technical collaboration agreement with Piaggio of Italy expired.

1981:The Bajaj M-50 debuted.

1986-87:in this fiscal year it introduced the Bajaj M-80 and the Kawasaki Bajaj KB100 motorcycles.

1994-95:Bajaj Auto produced one million vehicles in the fiscal year. Bajaj also signed development agreements with two Japanese engineering firms, Kubota and Tokyo R & D.

1998-99 : several new designs and a dozen upgrades of existing scooters came out. In late 1999, Rahul Bajaj made a bid to acquire ten percent of Piaggio for $65 million

2003: Pulsar DTS-i and Bajaj Wind 125-The World Bike was launched. In the executive motorcycle segment, its Caliber 115 "Hoodibabaa!" was launched. 1,07,115 Motorcycles sold in a month.

2004:Bajaj Discover DTS-i, New Bajaj Chetak 4 stroke with Wonder Geaf and Bajaj CT100 launched. Bajaj also unveils new brand identity, logo and brand line.

2005: Bajaj Avenger and Bajaj Wave launched
