The City Palace was built in 1726 by Maharana Jagat Singh I, son of Raj Singh who founded the city of Udaipur. The black stone deity of Lord Vishnu in Panchayatan style (Lord Vishnu enthroned with god Brahma and goddess Saraswati on either side) will awe anyone who visits the place.
