WHAT MATERIALS ARE THE VILLAGES OF CHEWA BUILT
FROM?
oThe vast majority of homes are constructed of sticks and mud with either a thatched roof or a roof of
corrugated iron held down by stones.
These houses have thatched roofs
HOW ARE THE HOUSES PUT TOGETHER?
The villages of Malawi are stuck together with mud and straw.
FOOD AND WATER
Food- Their main crops are corn and sorghum. Chickens, goats, and an occasional pig are used in a dish called nsima. Fruits are plentiful. Vegetables are cultivated but not popular.
Water- Water is obtained from lakes, rivers, and wells and must be carried for long distances.
NO, THIS HOUSE WOULD NOT WORK IN CALDWELL COUNTY…..
It would not work because in Caldwell County we get to
much precipitation.
