Day 1: Arrival Siem Reap, Angkor Wat temple

Arrive at Siem Reap airport – visa formalities - you are welcomed by your private English speaking guide and transferred to your hotel.  Enjoy your afternoon half day by private car to one of the major highlights of Southeast Asia awaits you: the magnificent Angkor Wat. Built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing the Mount Meru, home of the gods. The divine residence of Vishnu, the King himself was to reside here after his death. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II fought during his reign. Moreover, Angkor Wat is well known for the more than 2,000 Apsara dancers decorating the temple. Construction is thought to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor. Today, Angkor Wat is figured on Cambodia's national flag as the temple symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people. Time will be spent at the sites so you can enjoy the best photo opportunities until sunset. Overnight in Siem Reap. Meal included on this day: None

Day 2: Sun Raise, Ta Promh, Angkor Thom

Wake up in the early morning and transfer to Angkor Wat temple for sunrise. You will see the temple in a different way from your previous day with the morning light. Continue the visit to the most famous among these is Ta Prohm Temple. This is the jungle overgrown temple which has been featured in several Hollywood movies such as Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and Two Brothers. The large fig trees have merged with the ancient stones and have been left untouched by conservationists. It is truly an awe inspiring site to see how the vegetation is keeps the temple walls “glued” together. Afternoon, visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom . Angkor Thom was the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. After passing through the south gate, you will go down along this shady road to the Bayon temple. This temple lies exactly in the center of the city. The particularity of this monument is the 54 towers representing the 54 provinces of the then Great Khmer Empire. Each tower has 4 faces.  Overnight in Siem ReapMeal included on this day: Breakfast

Transfer through seemingly endless rice fields and friendly local villages to Phnom Kulen, an impressive sandstone plateau in this otherwise flat area. There will be opportunities to stop and catch shots of the local village scenes as you come across them. At the top of Phnom Kulen, you will discover stone carvings in a riverbed, a large reclining Buddha from the 16th century and visit several hidden pagodas. One of the main attractions is a waterfall where you can take a refreshing bath. From here, trek east to Svay Leu Pagoda. On the way you will discover Cambodia’s pristine jungle and some wildlife as well as the lychee trees Kulen is famous for. A well-deserved picnic lunch awaits you at Svay Leu Pagoda. There is often a lively local market near the pagoda which you have time to explore – a real insight into the way of life in this remote area.Return to Siem Reap in the early evening. Overnight in Siem ReapMeal included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Tonle Sap Lake

This morning, embark on an interesting boat trip on Tonlé Sap Lake, where you will have the opportunity to learn about life on the lake. Tonle Sap is South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season, as it is swelling to about 4 times it size in during the wet season. Board a local boat and visit Kampong Phluck, a village where you will see houses on stilts that are submerged when Tonlé Sap Lake extends. On the way, you will pass floating houses and impressive flooded forests, portraying life on the water. In one of the floating houses, a delicious lunch will be prepared for you. Enjoy the beautiful scenery dominated by the tranquility of the lake.

After lunch, transfer back to Siem Reap and enjoy the rest of afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Siem ReapMeal included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch

Today, depart by overland from Siem Reap toward Phnom Penh on 314 km road. Set-off by road though the Cambodian countryside to Phnom Penh via Kampong Thom and Kampong Cham provinces. Another interesting site a little outside of Phnom Penh is the spider market at Skun village. This deep-fried Cambodian speciality is much loved in the country and you can see the tray loads of prepared tarantulas and usually a basket or two of the ‘soon to be fried variety’! On arrival in Phnom Penh, check into your hotel and in the evening visit the riverside area where you may see the locals exercising or dancing. This is also a good location to find a local restaurant to relax at the end of your day with a cold drink and some Khmer or international cuisine to enjoy. Overnight in Phnom PenhMeal included on this day: Breakfast

For a look in to the country’s tragic recent history, a tour of Tuol Sleng Prison (S-21) and the Killing Fields at Choeng Ek is a sobering reminder of the evils of the Khmer Rouge regime. Although not a joyful tour, visiting these monuments unlocks keys to understanding the development of this still developing country. Spend the rest of the day browsing through the colourful market of Phnom Penh. Visit the Central Market, an art deco landmark and one of the largest markets in the city, if not all of Cambodia. You can find clothes, souvenirs, jewellery, and food. Other less touristy markets can be visited to see the scenic food stalls and vendors.  Overnight in Phnom PenhMeal included on this day: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 6: Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Wat Phnom, Toul Sleng, Cheung Ek

Phnom Penh has been the capital of Cambodia since 1866 and although it suffered extensive damage during the Khmer Rouge era, the city still retains a rustic charm. This morning, you will be greeted by a driver who will take you on a tour to the most remarkable sights of Phnom Penh in a Cyclo, an original Phnom Penh means of transportation and a fun way to explore this lively city. First, head to the Royal Palace. This palace dates back to 1866 and houses the Silver Pagoda, named for the over 5000 heavy silver tiles that cover its floors. Its original name is Wat Prakeo, meaning Temple of the Emerald Buddha. In this temple you will view a collection of Buddhas in gold, silver, crystal, and bronze. Continue to the National Museum, built in traditional Khmer style. It houses the world's foremost collection of ancient Khmer artistic, archaeological, and religious artifacts from the 4th to the 13th centuries. Over 5,000 pieces are on display, constituting the repository of the Kingdom's cultural wealth. In addition, the roof space is home to a large bat colony! After a visit to Wat Phnom temple, the founding place of the city on a small hilltop before returning to the hotel.

Why I travelHaving been bitten as the travel consultant for 6years by tourism industry, I filled up myself with all great fun and enormous experiences. I was born along Mekong River at the remote beautiful village which was my lovely place in life. Cambodia is a green land with cool nature and pure smile from heart of our friendly people. I start travel around Cambodia since I was 15 years old until now there are still lot of more sites to discover.  My Most Amazing Travel Experiences

Doing fishing at Koh Rong Island in Sihanouk Ville was one of my most wonderful ever experiences. I love fishing, snorkeling and I’m finding way to learn how to do diving. We heated by private boat from Sihanouk Ville for approximately 2 hours and immediately we arrived at the island, we walked around the island to interact with local Sok San village then we can start doing fishing the rocky areas in island. It was amazing day trip tour!
