The area offers mountain biking and hiking, fly fishing in rushing mountain streams, cattle wrangling at the oldest dude ranch in the U.S. and the oldest polo venue in the country. Speaking of horses, Sheridan offers rodeos throughout the summer, along with a full calendar of festivals and special events. The historic 1893 Sheridan Inn, Buffalo Bill Cody’s Sheridan “home,” offers dining and tours throughout the summer and in the fall will open as a “green” hotel.
