Since 2004 – a focal point for learning and training in Atlantic Canada; intersectoralnetworking and collaboration; a facilitator of research; a promoter of healthy and sustainable policies; and a catalyst for social justice and equity.
Focus - building regional capacity for healthy and safe communities by addressing the linkages between the determinants of health and the root causes of crime and victimization.
80% of participants are women
ASI saw an opportunity to focus on leadership for women and girls
December 2010 received funding from SWC to develop a model of community engagement for building leadership capacity of women and girls in Atlantic Canada
