Wallace Falls SP met Wallace Falls**** (zie ook http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Falls_State_Park )Directions: Drive from Monroe along U.S. 2 to Gold Bar, and turn North at the sign for Wallace Falls State Park. The trailhead is about 2 miles further. The first 1/4 mile of the hike is very boring. Following under a power line clearing, you can hear the popping of the electricity flowing through the wires. Just as the trail enters the woods, the trails split. The left fork follows an old railroad grade to the first viewpoint and Lower Wallace Falls in 2.5 miles, and the right fork traverses the woods to the first viewpoint and Lower Wallace Falls in 1.7 miles. They both intersect just before the lower falls. The best view is a quick .3 mile further up the trail, where on a windy spring day you might even catch the spray from the falls. Continue another .4 mile to the vista atop the falls.
Snoqualmie Falls ***** (zie ook: http://www.northeastwaterfalls.com/waterfall.php?num=362&p=0 en http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoqualmie_Falls )Directions: Snoqualmie Falls is located immediately west of the city of Snoqualmie along the Interstate 90 corridor. Exit Interstate 90 at the Snoqualmie Parkway exit, turning north (uphill) and proceed approximately 4 miles to Highway 202, then head left to the falls in another 1/2 mile.
Olallie SP met Twin Falls***** (zie ook: http://www.northeastwaterfalls.com/waterfall.php?num=1261&p=0 en http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_Falls_(Washington) )Directions: Drive east on I-90 to Exit 34 (Edgewick road), and turn right at the intersection. Just before the road crosses the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River, the entrance road to the state park turns off to your left. Drive to the end of the road and park. Hike in on the very well developed trail for about 3/4 of a mile to the first view of Twin Falls, which is somewhat distant. Continue along the trail for less than 1/2 of a mile to a short spur that leads to the overlook of the lower tier, or continue climbing another tenth of a mile to the bridge spanning the gorge and the other two tiers.

From Squamish, drive north along Highway 99 for about 40 km to the park (which if not signed, is about 1 km after the railroad tracks) or about 13 km south of Whistler. It's about a 400m walk to the viewing deck from the parking lot.

Dit schitterende meer wordt heel dikwijls gemist door bezoekers.
