The name The name United States of America was proposed

by Thomas Paine, and was first officially used in the Declaration of Independence, adopted on 4 July 1776. It is said of the U.S. shorthand. It is sometimes incorrectly called United States, resulting in confusion over its adjective. In Spanish, it is not acceptable use of America as the short name of this country, as there are other nations that share the North American continent. Similarly, America should not be used to refer exclusively to the United States, even if it is a widespread habit among anglophone use the name of the continent as the short name of the nation. In writing, one often uses the abbreviation SE. UU. and to a lesser extent, the symbol USA. In Spanish it is completely incorrect, although common, using the acronym USA.

The White House The White House is the official residence and principal

As its name implies, is a white building located on Pennsylvania Avenue No. 1600 northwest of Washington D. C. Designed during the first term of George Washington, the building was opened by John Adams in 1800.
