4 Star Sage Accessibility
The Pergamon museum has fascinating, massive ruins from Greek and Near East excavations. Although only 60% of the museum is step-free, it is definitely worth visiting. The museum is accessed via a bridge over the Spree River, located to the west of the building, which has a wheelchair lift to get up the steps. The neighboring Neues Museum requires a ticket with an entrance time so when you get to the Pergamon Museum, buy a Neues Museum ticket for 2 ½ or 3 hours later.

Is there an accessible entrance? “Yes, the approach to the entrance is from the west side of the building. There is a pedestrian bridge to cross onto the Museum island that has a wheelchair lift to get up 13 steps. There is an intercom at the base of the steps to talk to a staff member.

When I went there the lift was out of order (which is common in museums throughout Europe), so a staff member led me to a neighboring bridge to the north which had level access.
Is the door push/pull, revolving, automated by a button, or motion activated? The door into the museum is located to the right of the steps into the building and is activated by a button.
