Our DofE experience

First, we were given our route cards and maps and we had to draw the path we would take onto the map using the directions on the route card.

We had to do quite a lot of map reading when we were on the expedition.

We passed through lots of farms and farmer’s fields which gave us the opportunity to see lots of farm animals.

On the dog and partridge route we had to pass through a field full of cows. Somehow, we managed to spook the cows and they began following half of our group. This set back our expedition by half an hour and caused lots of trauma. The dog and partridge was the worst route for our group.

We made pasta with Bolognese sauce and mince for our evening meal.

It was Gabi’s birthday on our second expedition!

Something we all learned from our DofE expedition is that no matter how hard

something seems, you can always accomplish it; and this accomplishment feels even better

when you do it with friends.
