King Harald of Norway vowed to remain un-married for life unless he could marry his true love, who was the daughter of a cloth mer-chant. They both later married with help from the Government of Norway and she became the Queen of Norway.

Norway is a fjord country with many great fjords to visit, like the Sognefjord, which is the biggest fjord in Norway with its 180km long finger.

Fjord is a long, narrow inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by glacial erosion.

The troll plays a significant part in Norwegian and Scandinavian folklore. The troll is an ugly, messy, nasty creature that lives in caves or forests and will turn to stone if sunlight hits them. There are even a few areas in Norway that have been named after the troll.

Norway is the most successful nation in the world at the Winter Olympics. The country has collected the most medals of any country over the games history.

The Sami are an indigenous people of northern Scan-dinavia who have been living in the northern territo-ries for over 10,000 years. They are known for their colorful clothes and herding of reindeer.

The Nobel Peace Prize and its recipients' lectures are presented at the annual Prize Award Cere-mony in Oslo, Norway, usually on 10 December. The Nobel Peace Prize banquet is held in Norway at the Oslo Grand Hotel after the award ceremony. Apart from the laureate, guests include the Presi-dent of the Storting, the Prime Minister, and, since 2006, the King and Queen of Norway. In total, about 250 guests attend.

Oslo has a ton of green spaces, and one them is Vigeland Park — the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist. The park was completely designed by artist Gustav Vigeland, who not only laid out the 79-acre park, but also completed the more than 200 sculptures displayed within it.

In Norway, you will find reindeers. These animals are also called cari-bou. These animals which only live in the northern hemisphere above the Arctic circle, travel far to get food. They have antlers, which they use for scraping the snow away from the ground to find food.
