DAY 1. YANGON (ARRIVAL)

Mid-morning arrival by air in Yangon (Mingalardon Airport).You will be met by your English- speaking guide who will accompany throughout your whole trip of Myanmar and transfer to Hotel. It is approximately 45 minutes from airport to hotel and after check-in,you can have lunch and then start a brief city tour of Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon,which is still a relatively quiet and charming city. Its impressive colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one of the most fascinating and authentic capitals in South East Asia. (1) Depending on your interests and the time available your group can visit downtown Yangon with its faded colonial buildings and atmosphere(2) the Sule Pagoda and Chinatown. (3) We will finish the city tour around sunset with a visit to Myanmar’s holiest monument, the Shwedagon Pagoda with its golden stupa covered with 60 tons of pure gold leaf.

DAY 2. YANGON-MANDALAY (By morning flight)

After breakfast at hotel,your group will transfer to Yangon’s Mingaladon Airport for the flight to Mandalay. On arrival,your group will start a sightseeing tour of Mandalay, the centre of Buddhism in Myanmar, full of stupas, monks and monasteres.(1) You will see monks at worship and having midday meals.(2) In the afternoon, we will visit a gold leaf- beating workshop (3) afterwards, we will visit the most venerated icon of Mandalay : the Mahamuni Image – a bronze Buddha image said to be cast during the lifetime of Buddha himself. (4) In the evening you will enjoy a great sunset at U Bein Bridge, the longest teakwood bridge of its type. Overnight in Mandalay Hotel

Day 3. Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay Hill

(1) After breakfast, your group will transfer to Mandalay pier, embarking on a private boat and cruise the Irrawaddy River towards the former capital of Mingun. After the 45- minute cruise, you arrive in Mingun, famous for its huge and unfinished Pahtodawgyi Pagoda and Mingun Bell, the 90 ton second-largest ringing bell in the world. (2) You will also see the beautiful white Hsinbyume Pagoda. Return to Mandalay by boat.(3) In the afternoon, visit Mandalay Palace, the Golden Monastery, noted for its exquisite gold-leaf covered wood carvings, Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world’s biggest book(4) finish the day’s tour by visiting the top of Mandalay Hill to enjoy sunset and a panoramic view of the city. Day 4. MDY – BAGAN ( By boat )

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the jetty for a boat trip to Bagan. As it cruises southwards, the river boat passes many villages offering a glimpse into the way of life along the Arrawaddy River.You will not be able to spend the night on an island as it is not permitted but the boat will stop at two villages along the way so you can explore. You will arrive in Bagan late in the evening and transfer to hotel. Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be provided on this cruise.Bagan, on the dry plain of central Myanmar by the banks of the Arrawaddy River, is one of the most remarkable archaeological sites in Asia. In a period of 230 years, from 11th to 13th centuries BC, Bagan was the capital of Myanmar, marked by a religious fervor and building frenzy resulting in the thousand of stupas and temples many of which are still standing today. Overnight in BAGAN Hotel.

Day 5. BAGAN ( Optional Balloon ride and sightseeing)

After a sunrise balloon ride, we first visit Nyaung U Market, where country people come and buy their goods. Then we start temples exploration with visits to some of the most grand and important temples of Bagan including : (1) Shwezigon pagoda(2) Ananda Temple(3) Dammyangyi Temple (4) Sulamani Temple.In the afternoon,you will visit

(5) the Bagan archaeological museum and afterwards see the traditional way local people make the lacquerware which is a famed local product. (6) The highlight of this day is experiencing the sunset view from the top of a temple. Overnight in Bagan Hotel

Day 6. BAGAN – Mt. Popa – BAGAN

After breakfast,(1) your group will enjoy a scenic drive to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano known as the Mount Olympus of Myanmar where the local population believes that the olden gods and spirits of ancient times reside. (2) Our guide will lead you up Popa Kalat monastery where you can enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding plains and Popa national park.(3) On the way back to Bagan, we will explore the traditional sugar-palm production, traditional Myanmar-style cigar making and peanut oil production using cattle to power the grindstones. Day 7. BAGAN – HEHO – INLE Lake

Take the late morning flight from Mandalay airport to Heho airport where our driver awaits to transfer you to the Inle lake. (1) Relax on the refreshing boat ride to your hotel on the lake . The Inle Lake,a spectacular freshwater lake on the Shan highlands is the second largest lake in Myanmar,and is located 900m above sea level and home to unique one leg- rowing Intha lake-people.

(2) In the afternoon, enjoy the tour to Paungdawoo Pagoda, famed for its richly gilded five small Buddha images, also is believed the holiest in Inle lake. (3) Our next stop is Ngaphechaung monastery, known as jumping cat Pagoda. (4) As you travel further to Nam Pan village; cotton and Lotus weaving factory, cigar making houses will give you a good sense of traditional Intha life. Overnight in Inle lake hotel.

Day 8. INDEIN

This morning, (1) you will visit the 5 day market which is held in different villages surround the lake. These are definitely a fascinating places to experience authentic scenes of local ethnic tribes such as the Palaung, Shan and Lahu and Danu in their colourful tribal clothes and exotic market atmosphere. (2) Afterwards, the boat will take you to the beautiful Indein ruined temple complex, located on a hill overlooking the lake. It is definitely interesting and relaxing walk between the rows of ruined ancient temples which have been left to nature for centuries.(3) The rest of the day is free at rest, enjoy the fresh air, blue sky and later, the sunset on the Inle lake. Overnight in Inle lake hotel.DAY 9. INLE LAKE – HEHO - YANGON

You will take take the morning flight from Heho to Yangon. Enjoy another visit of Yangon city. (1) You can see the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda’s huge 70m long reclining Buddha and one of Myanmar’s holiest monuments.
