• Once upon a time when the Southern coast of Crimea was under the authority of the Turkish Sultan lived in the village of Mishor modest toiler Aby-aka

• He lived in the hut near the sea and tirelessly worked on his small vineyard.

• Old Aby-aka was known working honest man and enjoyed the respect and esteem of all villages.

• He has a daughter, a dark-eyed beauty Arzy. Her stature was lithe and slender, like a vine, her bright lips glowed like ripe cherries and her delicate cheeks were rosy like velvety peaches.

• Time was going on and the girl was growing more beautiful day by day.

• Helping mother in the work, rang her silver laughter in the vineyard.

She often came down to her favourite fountain and sat there gazing the waves ran on the shore

Thinking about a cheerful fellow from a remote mountain village whom she had met once near the fountain.

• Everybody admired charming Arzy, but most of all wily old man, Ali-Baba by name, looked at her more attentively than anyone else.

• He lost the rest since the first time he saw her at the fountain near the sea.

• Ali Baba was the owner of small felucca(mercant ship), which is often take goods from the Turkish coast to Mishor.

• Nobody liked the merchant: Great Chitter he was.

• And there was the old Turkish dark rumor that he looks for girls in the villages of the Southern coast, kidnaps them and taken on his felucca to Istanbul for sale in Turkish harem to pasha and Sultan.

• Soon came the day when the fellow sent his match-makers.

• The wedding of beautiful Arzy was merrily celebrated in the village of Miskhor. When the dusk fell on the shore Arzy wished to say farewell to her favorite fountain.

• The girl even didn't suspect that several perfidious eyes watched her. Suddenly...Two tenacious hands seized the girl, swated her in a cloak and immediatelly set out to the sea.

• Pirates picked up the precious prey and led by Ali Baba rushed to the boat.

• Ali-Baba was happy. Finally, he managed to bring joy to his greedy heart, to steal a beauty, which will adorn the palace of the Sultan, and it will bring the wealth, a lot of gold.

• Learning about the wedding, he has not lost hope to capture Arzy.

• And here she are in his hand. • With great horror and grief, ran to the sea father of

Arzy, the groom and guests, but it was too late - felucca of Ali Baba, take to Istanbul. The village fills with crayes. All mourned the favorite Arzy.

• Ali-baba brought Arzy to Istanbul.

• Luck did not left him. There he managed to withdraw craing girl at the Slave Market, where there were eunuchs of the Sultan.

• They found Arzy decent for harem of regent prophet on earth.

• The girl was brought to the palace.

• Ali-Baba got a great amount of money for Arzy and the girl was shut up in the Sultan's harem.

• Arzy was homesick, she fretted.

• A child was born during her captivity but she was never happy.

• In a year after the brigands had seized her on the remote crimean coast, she climbed the tower of the Sultan's seraglio with the baby in her arms and threw herself into the Bosporus.

• That same evening a sorrowing mermaid with the baby in her arms approached the fountain near the Miskhor shore.

• Since that time once in a year the mermaid with the baby emerged from the quiet waves of the sea. She came up to the fountain, sat down on the shore gazing her native village.

• She approached the fountain, greedily saw the water, playing with a jet, wash hands and hair, gently rub the stones sat on the shore, thoughtfully peer in the marine space and at home at village.

• And then sank in to the sea and disappeared till the next year
