LIVE DESIGN, TRANSFORM LIFE: ‘Design to Transform Life’, has been identified as the main theme of Cape Town’s bid. This theme is very relevant in the context of a city that is spatially divided, spread and socially stratified. The goal is to use design as a tool to cross spatial, social, educational and economic barriers and to spread opportunity equitably among all Cape Town’s residents.
