August falls within the wet season, which means there will be around 12 rainy days when downfalls are expected and there is also a risk of hurricanes. Despite that, the resort enjoys ten hours of sunshine each day and a pleasant sea temperature of 83°C. Due to the sheltered location of Riviera Maya, the worst of the tropical storms and hurricanes tend to pass the region. Any severe weather warnings at your resort however, should of course be heeded.

Next, it's on to your starting point, where you and your passenger will be set up on a Paradise ATV before taking off through tropical scenery full of action and speed. Chichen Itza Plus This world famous archaeological site, which was founded in 525 AD, has been
recently recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The site includes multiple buildings, but the most famous and powerful is known as "El Castillo" (the castle) or Pyramid of Kukulcan. Every year in March and September, with the equinox, a light-and-shadow effect appears at sunset on the temple. It is produced by the successive projection of shadows cast by the building's platforms, that create seven triangles of sunlight, that together resemble the undulating body of a serpent descending the pyramid, as the seventh triangle coincides with the reptile's head that is near the bottom of the stairs.
