LA means PASSES IN LADAKHI language & DAKS means situated. It is situated in the state J&K. Area 86,904sqKM. It consists of two districts, LEH & KARGIL. LEH is the largest district in india & its population density is lowest in india with 2/sq KM. Population of ladakh is about 270000 and population density is 3.1/sqKM.

GEOGRAPHYIt is 434km away from srinagar &

480km from manali Area 86,904 km2 

Geography of Ladakh which includes a number of valleys, passes, mountain ranges, glaciers and long stretched cold desert is one of world`s largest and highest plateaus located at 3000m and 9800ft above the sea level. Located in the foot hills of great Karakoram Range and the great Himalayas this small region is known for its distinctive geographical composition which has its own description.

CULTUREIt is sometimes called

"Little Tibet" as it has been strongly influenced by Tibetan culture. A majority of Ladakhis are Tibetan Buddhists and the rest are mostly Shia Muslims. Language people speak LAKAKHI LANGUAGE.
