VILLA DESCRIPTION

VILLA 460 IN KATA, PHUKET, THAILAND

Combining Japanese, Balinese, and Thai architecture, this 3-bedroom villa offers all the amenities and

luxuries of a 5 star resort. Comprising of 4 separate buildings on the oceanfront, the villa is situated on

a headland between the 2 nearby Kata Beaches.

All of the 3-bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms that boast natural settings and outside showers. The villa

was designed to be as much as possible in harmony with nature, which means many balconies, large

windows, high ceilings, trees, shrubs and of course magnificent views of the sea. All the doors and

windows slide back into the walls giving a very open, spacious feeling. The bathrooms, kitchen, etc are

very modern. There are many artefacts, statues, carvings, doors etc, from Bali in the villa and the

garden.





A path runs down from the parking area on top of the hill to the front gate, which is an old and large

Javanese door. Steps lead to a white sandstone walkway, which is flanked on both sides by a lotus pond.

On the left side of the pond is the service building that includes the kitchen, storeroom and staff room.

At the opposite end of the pond is the first guest bedroom that has its own private patio and garden with

views of the sea and much foliage. Access to the bedroom is across stepping-stones in the lotus pond.

The bathroom is next to a huge rock, which forms one of the sides of the outdoor shower.

The two main buildings are located near the cliffs at the front of the property overlooking the sea. Next

to the swimming pool is the front left building. Adjoining the bedroom on the ground floor is a patio

and small garden. On the 1st floor is the main living/dining area that has a large balcony with a

spectacular sea view. It has a polished beige sandstone floor, extra high ceilings and is very spacious.

The front right building has a large study on the ground floor that opens on to a covered patio and the

swimming pool. The master bedroom on the 1st floor has its own balcony and large bathroom including

bathtub and outside shower (with a great view). It features a high quality teak wood floor while the other

bedrooms have white terrazzo floors. Entrances to the living room, master bedroom, and front

bedroom by the pool are through Balinese doors.

All the rooms are individually air-conditioned and come equipped with window/door screens and fans

for when air-conditioning isn't wanted. On the rocks in front of the pool and buildings is a Balinese

Sala (pavilion) with panoramic views of the Andaman Sea, the rocky shoreline, the swimming pool, and

front garden. It can comfortably seat 6 people and be used for lunches, sun downer cocktails, and

general relaxing. Another unique item is a large flat rock near the Sala. It can be used as a way in and

out of the sea for swimming during the calm season (Dec-May).

The villa has the latest stereo equipment; state of the art computer set up, and top of the line cable TV

system. There is an excellent live in cook and a cleaning woman who comes daily. Guests of the villa

have access to a newly constructed club that includes a seafood bar/restaurant called Gung. It is located

on Kata Beach and features changing rooms and beach chairs with umbrellas. Kata Beach offers easy

access to many fine restaurants (with good wine cellars) such as The Boathouse, Gung, and others, all

of which are within easy walking distance from the villa. Patong Beach, the center of nightlife in Phuket,
