What is iClio?

iClio is dedicated to the creation of high quality bespoke historical and cultural content and experiences. We aim to meet the growing demand for this by engaging users of new devices and media channels. We specialize in applications that build bridges between experience, content and technology, focusing on accuracy, usability, and quality, providing a gratifying user experience.

Clio was the muse of history. She now tells tales and anecdotes in innovative, interactive environments, becoming iClio, the muse of history, culture and heritage for the new digital media.



What is JiTT?

What is JiTT? It’s your offline, smart city guide.

• JiTT turns your smartphone into a high-quality, customizable city guide, taking you to historical and cultural points of interest.

• All content, including text, audio and maps, are stored offline, so no roaming charging are incurred.

• JiTT creates tours based on the user’s available time. Users can then edit their tour, controlling the places they visit, and managing their time.

• As you walk, storytellers tell you the stories of the places you visit and see along your route.



The Creation Process

• JiTT city guides are researched, written, and edited by a team of historians, and culture writers and editors.

• This team maintains the highest standards of accuracy and storytelling. Many apps focus on technology only. To us, content is king!

• After the English content is approved, our carefully selected translators create the new language versions. Not only linguistically correct, they make cultural adaptations where necessary.

The curation and creation process

• Technical data such as GPS coordinates, public transport data, and other details are prepared.

• A tester goes to the city to check that tours work, that Points of Interest are accurately marked on the map, as well as talking to locals in the tourism industry for suggestions of any sights they’d personally recommend or we may have overlooked.

• City photography is selected, final artwork prepared, and the product is ready for launch!

JiTT on Wearables

• JiTT is one of the first travel guide apps available for Apple Watch, and was available from Day One, when the new wearable was made available to the public. It will soon be available on Android wearables.

• JiTT experimented with Google Glass, and will pick up that experiment when Google launch the next phase of wearable OHMD technology. OHMD and JiTT are natural partners with huge potential for audio-visual guides in the tourism industry.
