Visit the Sant’Ignazio Church, Curia and Gesu (Church of the Gesú), a 16th-century late Renaissance church that is the mother church of the Society of Jesus and St. Ignatius’ final resting place. After lunch, the choir will rehearse before dinner and then sing Vigil Mass this evening at the Gesu. After rehearsal, return to the Chiesa del Gesú for Vigil. Dinner at a local restaurant tonight. (B,D) Sun, June 14: Rome. After breakfast visit Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum, and a photo stop at the Vatican Gardens. Lunch is on your own with a choir performance this afternoon. Dinner with the group near Piazza Navona. (B,D) Mon, June 15: Rome & Barcelona, Spain. Enjoy the morning at leisure before lunch. An afternoon sightseeing tour with local guide includes entrance to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant before transferring to the port city of Civitavecchia. Board your cruise ferry ship for Barcelona, Spain, overnight on ship. (B,D) Tue, June 16: Barcelona. Arrive in Barcelona and transfer to the Seminari Salesia-Casa d’Acollides Marti-Codolar for three nights. The rest of the evening is at leisure. (B) Wed, June 17: Barcelona. Spend the morning at leisure, transfer to Sant Ignasi School for exchange performance. Meet students of Sant Ignasi and tour school. After lunch, see more of Barcelona with a guided half-day sightseeing tour that The Ignatian Choir Project is a choral performance tour that follows in the footsteps of St. Ignatius of Loyola to destinations in Europe where he lived and worked during his lifetime. The beginning of our journey takes us to the Eternal City - Rome - where Ignatius ultimately left this world in 1556. After concerts and visits to the Vatican, Colosseum and other attractions in and around Rome, the group travels to Barcelona where we have the opportunity to share our music with the students at the Jesuit high schools Sant Ignazi and Sant Estanislau. From Barcelona, the group will visit chapel at Manresa that is built over the “cave” where Ignatius composed what was to become the Spiritual Exercises. Leaving Manresa, we make our way to the Basque region of Northern Spain, our final destination, which is where Ignatius’ journey began: the home of the Loyola family in Azpeitia. We will give our final performance and sing Mass at the Loyola Basilica on Sunday morning. We do not leave Basque country without some down time on the clear beaches of San Sebastian. And finally, in Bilbao, the group has a farewell dinner before returning home on Monday to the United States.

Lunch on own in village around the Abbey. In the afternoon,travel to Manresa where Ignatius spent several months in the cave and give a performance in the Sanctuary before a group photo down at the River Cardonerwhile Ignatius dedicated his life to Jesus. Return to your hotel in Barcelona for onelast night. (B,D)

Fri, June 19: Barcelona, Pamplona & Azpetia. After breakfast check out of the hoteland depart for Basque Country. At the first rest stop, visit Pamplona where Ignatiuswas injured in battle by a cannonball. Enjoy lunch and some free time before continuing to Azpeitia. Check into the Hotel Loiola for two nights. Dinner is in nearbyTolosa at the Santa Maria del Coro. The remainder of the evening will be spentrecording our tour repertoire in the sanctuary of Santa Maria (B,D)

Sat, June 20:Azpeitia. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Walk to visit the Sanctuary ofLoyola, that contains the Basilica of Loyola, St. Ignatius’ 15th century home andmuseum. After the guided tour, travel to San Sebastian for lunch and free time in theafternoon before returning to Azpeitia. Enjoy dinner with the group tonight in a localrestaurant. Choir will give their final performance of the tour this evening at theLoyola Basilica. (B,D)

Sun, June 21: Azpeitia & Bilbao. Check out of the hotel after breakfast and singMass at Loyola Basilica. After lunch, transfer to Bilbao, located a few miles south of the Bay of Biscay. Upon arrival enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, the largest cityof the Basque Country. Transfer to the Abba Parque Hotel. Dinner tonight is at a localrestaurant. (B,D)
