The settling of IcelandIceland was first settled in 874 by Ingólfur Arnason. He sent his two ravens out of his ship to find land and they would return when they found it. One came back. He put out his two high-seat pillars and he swore that he would live where they would come to shore. He cept his promise and named the place Reykjavík witch now is the capital.
