• History of Russia counts many years, and during that time has accumulated a lot of holidays. It is a long list, but the favourite Russian holidays are the New Year’s Day, Easter and Victory Day.
New Year - perhaps one of the holidays that brings presents to children and groun-ups.
This holiday is celebrated at the night of the 31 of December. A week before the New Year the family decorates the flat. The main part of it is the Christmas tree!
Exactly at midnight on all the TV channels greetings from our President are transmitted, after that the chiming clock strikes 12 times and people say .”Happy New Year!”
• Children look forward to presents from Santa Claus, which are put under the Christmas tree.
• Easter is a religious holiday.
• It is celebrated on the first Saturday of April.
• People dye eggs, bake Easter cakes and go to the Church.
• Victory Day ... How many deaths are behind these words ... The 9 of May fascist Germany signed an act of surrender.This day was great for everybody in Russia!
• On this day in Red Square there is a parade in the honour of those who defended our country.
• It’s a new holiday and a day off in Russia celebrated on the 12 of June.
• On this day all the people are walking and having fun, at midnight fireworks are arranged.
