On the banks of the Thu Bon River, 30 km south of Da Nang, lies the ancient town of Hoi An. It is one of Vietnam's most picturesque towns. Hundreds years passed, Hoi An today is a quaint old town still showing the influences of the Chinese and Japanese traders who passed through and settled here.

Hoi An has a distinct Chinese atmosphere with low, tile-roofed houses and narrow streets; the original structure of some of these streets still remains almost intact. All the houses were made of rare wood, decorated with lacquered boards and panels engraved with Chinese characters. Pillars were also carved with ornamental designs.

Conecting Tran Phu St. with Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St., Japanese Covered bridge was constructed in the middle of the 16th century by Japanese merchants in Hoi An. The Bridge is an invaluable property and has been officially selected to be the symbol of Hoi An.

If you are a romantic natured person, then you must not miss walking around the town, enjoying the relaxing mood, cultural music, and atmosphere similar to ancient times.

… And like Cao Lau, the "White Rose“ and fried won-ton are found on every menu in Hoi An.
