We work very closely with Maharashtra Tourism (MTDC) for promotion and restoration of these historical sites & monuments.

In 1983, UNESCO World Heritage Center selected the Ajanta Caves to be a part of their preservation endeavors. Today, the caves at Ajanta remain one of the most visited architectural sites in India.

They are a living representation of one of the grandest artistic styles in Indian art and history. It is believed that Ajanta caves started carving from 2nd century BC and ended at 6th century AD. The entire course of the evolution of Buddhist architecture can be traced in Ajanta. Images interpreting the life stories of Buddha and animal figures were carved out from the huge rocks. Everything including the contemporary people, kings, slaves, women, men and

children are seen in the Ajanta wall paintings interlaced with flowers, plants, fruits, birds and beasts. There are also the figures of Yakshas, Kinneras (half human and half bird), Gandharvas (divine musicians), Apsaras (heavenly dancers), which were of concern to the people of that time. The total number of caves including the unfinished one is thirty of which fie (9, 10, 19, 26 and 29) are Cha-itya-Grihas and the rest

are Sangharamas or Viharas (monasteries). The caves 1, 2, 16 and 17 can be rated amongst the greatest artitic orks of human art.

Elephanta Caves are UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Elephanta caves, Indian art has found one of its most perfect expressions in form of beautiful reliefs, sculptures, and temples dedicated to the Lord Shiva.

Elephanta anciently known as Gharapuri, the island capital of Konkan Mauryas, is celebrated for its colossal image of lord Shiva, with three heads each representing a different form. Located 10 km away from the Gateway of India at Mumbai, these caves house rock cut temples dating back to the 5th century. Visit this green island for the wonders of the 7th century, the painstakingly hewn rock-cut cave temple, dedicated to Shiva. The Maheshamurti panel in which Shiva is shown as a creator, protector and destroyer and

at the same time as the savior and bestower of blessings, is a sight that should be enjoyed at least once in a lifetime.

On entering the caves you can see heavy pillars carved from the rock. Slowly, once your eyes become accustomed to the dim light; then you can make out marvelous representations from Indian mythology carved on the walls. Also on the southern wall are grand sculptured images

of Kalyanasundara, Gangadhara, Ardhanariswara and Uma Maheswara. To the west of the northern entrance are sculptured images of Nataraja and Andhakaasuravadamoorthy, and to its east are images of Yogiswara and Ravanaanugrahamurthy.

World famous Ellora Caves situated 30 kilometers from Aurangabad city. Ellora Caves are World Heritage Site, really impressive rock cut temples & monasteries.

There are 34 caves, structures excavated out of the vertical face of the hills. There are 12 Mahayana Buddhist caves (caves 1-12), 17 Hindu caves (caves 13-29) and 5 caves of the Jain faith (caves 30-34), 22 more caves, dedicated to Lord Shiva, were recently discovered. The Ellora Caves are not only a unique artistic creation but also with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

The central attraction at Ellora is Kailash Temple (cave16), is the most remarkable.

Shaped by hand from a single massive rock, it includes a gateway, exhibition area, square, hall, hut, sanctorum and tower which bear testimony to the excellence of Dravidian art. It is believed to have taken 7000 laborers, working in continuous shifts and 150 years to build.

Ever since the first European visitors in 18th Century, Ellora has attracted chroniclers, antiquarians, scholars and in more recent years, ever- increasing number of tourists.

THE TAJ MAHAL of Agra is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, for reasons more than just looking magnificent. The Taj Mahal, is a white marble mausoleum located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, Taj Mahal attracts some 3 million people a year for visit.

Commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to house the worldly remains of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal stands on the southern bank of the Yamuna River. The mausoleum is widely recognized as “The Jewel of Muslim Art in India” and remains as one of the world’s most celebrated structures and a symbol of India’s rich history.

AGRA FORT is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in Agra, India. The fort is also known as Lal Qila, Fort Rouge and Red Fort of Agra. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its much more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled palatial city.

Some of the exquisite structures that deserve a mention are: Sheesh Mahal, The Diwan-i- Am, Diwan-i-Khas, The Anguri Bagh, Khas Mahal, Mina Masjid, Nagina Masjid, Musamman Burj.
