Bhubaneswar is the capital city of Odisha and also called as ancient culture-rich city in India.

Lingaraj Temple
It is the biggest temple in the city and located within the spacious latterite wall.

The temple was constructed in 10th or 11th century with Kalinga style architecture.
The temple is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva in his Harihara form.
Nandankanan Zoo
It is located in the Chandaka forest near the banks of kanjia lake about 15km outside of bhubaneswar.
The zoo is home to approximately 67 kinds of mammals, 18 varieties of reptiles and 81 bird species as per studies.
The zoo is also home to varieties of fresh water fishes, Asiatic lions, Indian crocodiles and birds etc.
The zoo is mainly famous for white tigers.

The zoo is spread over 400 hectares and opened to public since 1979.
The boating and forest safari facility is also available in the zoo.
Dhauli Giri (Shanti Stupa)
The monument is located at the river bank of Daya and considered to be the place where the famous Kalinga War took place.
After watching the bloodshed, emperor Ashoka was turned to non-violence and Buddhism.
The place is located 8km far from Bhubaneswar and also known as peace
pagoda or shanti stupa.
Khandagiri & Udaygiri caves
The caves represent the fine ancient stone carving that is partly artificial and partly natural.
The caves were built in 1st or 2nd century B.C. as the residential blocks for the Jain monks.
As per Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the ranigumpha, hathigumpha and ganeshagumpha in
Udayagiri are the most important and famous for the art treasure.
Mukteshwara Temple
Mukteshwara Temple was built in the 10th century and is called the gem of Odisha architecture.
The temple is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva and there is a lot of small shrines that house numerous lingams of Lord
Shiva within the temple.
Odisha State Museum
Odisha State Museum was established in the year 1938 and contains over 10 galleries of various antiquities like manuscripts, tools, weapons and armory, scientific tools and natural history etc.
The museum is well-known for the huge collection of manuscripts on palm-leaves of 12th century.
The museum also has an epigraphy gallery where you will get an insight of rare epigraphy records from ancient days.

Pathani Samanta Planetarium
