Tirupati is a city in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. It is a hill station. It is an all time,

visit place, and most crowded place round the year. It is one of the coolest places, in

summers also. There is a golden temple which is worshipped by pilgrimages, beautiful

waterfalls, and museum.

The temple is known as “Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple” is a landmark situated in the

hill town of Tirumala. There are around 60 circular rounds on the way of hills to reach on the

top. So you don’t even try to drive by yourself, no matter how much expertise you are at

driving, so you need a specialized driver there. The bus will take you there, and strictly

instructions are given by the driver and conductor that sit silently and don’t look outside the

windows, because if the driver lose his concentration that can be dangerous.

You are surrounded by the lush greenery, and a cool breeze with a different kind of feeling,

when you are passing through these circular rounds, there is some tickling continues in your

stomach till you will the bus will not stop. There are a several lodges and hotels are there to

stay and plenty of food is available there for you. Delicious food, most favourite rice and

other dishes are also there with a banana leaf platter, yes, there are no serving plates and tea

spoons to use, the people are always using the banana leaf to serve the food.

After having this look outside now get go ready for the temple, the “Sri Venkateswara

Swamy Temple” is also known as “Tirumala Temple”, “Tirupati Temple”, “Tirupati

Balaji Temple”. It is a belief that Venkatadri or Balaji is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Lord

Veinkatesh was living near a pond named “Pushkarani” which is situated beside Tirumala.

Tirumala named due surrounding hills of Tirupati, these are situated on the seven heads of

Sheshnaag, called as “Saptagiri”. The hills are 853m above from sea level. The seven peaks

are called Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrushabhadri, Narayanadri and

Venkatadri. The temple is situated on the last peak “Venkatadri”.

The Temple is constructed in Dravidian architecture and is believed to be constructed over a

period of time starting from 300 AD. The Garbagriha (Sanctum Sanctorum) is called

AnandaNilayam. The preceding deity, Vainkateswara, is in standing posture and faces east in

Garbha griha. The temple follows Vaikhanasa Agama tradition of worship. The temple is one

of the eight Vishnu Swayambhu Kshetras and is listed as 106th and the last earthly Divya

Desam. You can read the inscriptions on the walls, if you can read Tamil, Telugu, Kannad

languages that shows the existence of Chola, Pallava, and Vijaynagaara reign.

The “Ananda Nilayam” is clearly seen after entering Vimana Pradakhshina corridor, which

is fully coated with, the name because it spreads bliss or anandam on everyone. It stated in

Puranas that once Lord Veinkatesh was appearing here in this vimanam which is invisible to

immortal eyes. The vimana is directly located above the main idol in the sanctum.

It is believed that if you donate your hairs here your wishes will come true. So most of the

people, whether they women, men or children, come here to donate their hair, no matter

from which religion, or economical class they belong.

There is above 50,000 – 1,00,000 people come across the country every day for darsahana.

So it is not confirmed when your number will come, there are a lot of waiting rooms are

available you can sit there to be in queue. It may be you will wait for an hour or longer

hours, so all the snacks like popcorn, samosa, wafers are available besides waiting room but

keep it clean. There is a long queue for darshana, which steadily passing, with a sound of

“Govinda” by the devotees. Govinda, Balaji, and Srinivasana are other names of Lord

Venkatesh. You will see the idol of Lord Veinkateshwara along with goddess Lakshami on

his chest’s left side and goddess Padmavati on his chest’s right side.

After, the Darshana of Lord Veinkatesh if you are feeling hungry than food stalls are there

you can take coffee and other snacks. So your tummy now full then moves to “Akash

Ganga Theertham” is a waterfall, where the water comes out as natural steam between the

hill rock. You have to climb down to reach the waterfall. This place is rendered in the Vedas

for it’s believed that the holy water flows from the lotus feet of the main deity of “Ananad

Nilyam”. It is also believed that bathe in the holy water is equivalent to hundreds of rituals.

After visiting Akash Ganga Theertham, next destination is “Talakona Waterfalls” Talakona

means ‘head hills’ in telugu, Tala – head and Kona – hills. Talakona symbolically means ‘the head of the Seshachalam (sheshnaag) hills’ as these mountains are believed to be the

threshold to Tirumala mountain ranges. The dazzling waterfall falling deep into a valley

from a height of 270 feet makes the highest waterfall in the state. People believe that this

water is immense therapeutic power causes to flowing through the herbs enriched with

medicinal values. The Lord Sidheshwara Swamy temple is closely situated to the waterfall.

There is a 240m long ropeway to thrill you while walking, you can go through a number of

trek route, you can choose any one which suits you. There are several caves which assume

that ancient sages were used to stay.

After casing the temple and waterfalls there is a park named as “Sri Venkateswara

National Park” after Lord Venkateswara. It is located in Eastern Ghats spread over the

Seshachalam hills of Cuddapah district and Tirumala hills in Chittoor district. It has a

beautiful landscape that is marked by the rugged topographical features. The whole park is

surrounded by the Seshachalam and Tirumala hills and is marked by gorges, steep slopes,

plateaus and valleys. The park has gained popularity for its amazing waterfalls such as

Talakona, Gunjana, and Gundalakona. It is an ideal place for trekking; you can see a forest

bungalow along your way, which has streamed in your background.

There are a lot of species of animals such as Tiger, Panther, Sloth Bear, Sambar, Cheetal,

Mouse Deer, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Wild Dog, Hyena, Jackal, Fox, Civet Cat, Jungle

Cat, Golden Gecko, Slender Loris, Indian Giant Squirrel, Tree Shrew, Flying Lizard etc.,

birds such as Common Peafowl, Grey Pelican, Purple Heron, Demoiselle Crane, White Ibis,

White-Necked Stork, Brahminy Duck, Painted Stork, Common Teal, Lesser Whistling Teal,

Pintail, White Breasted Waterhen, Cotton Teal, Comb Duck, Shoveller, Purple Moorhen,

Painted Spur Fowl, Silver Pheasant, Jungle Bush Quail, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Grey

Partridge, Indian Spotted Munia etc., reptiles such as Marsh Crocodile, Indian Pond

Terrapin, Starred Tortoise, Golden Gecko, Gliding Lizard, Cobra, House Gecko, Termite

Gecko, Common Skink, Rat Snake, Indian Python, Rock Gecko, Banded Rock Gecko,

Russels Viper, Chameleon, Common Indian Monitor, Banded Krait etc.
