The village of Sises is full of carob trees. It is a very common tree in Crete and we used to collect its fruits and use it as food but now we only use them to feed the sheep and goats.

and we used to collect its fruits and use it as food but now we only use them to feed the sheep and goats.

In Crete there are two different kinds of platanos (plane). The one that its leaves are falling and the

one that is not. The evergreen plane there is only in Chania of Crete.

The cretan morus has no berries. There is one morus tree in our school yard.

The cretan vineyard are for centuries producing very good varieties of grapes and wines. In Crete raisins and

moustos are the most traditional products.

Cretan people are very font of walnuts. We use them as a symbol for love and marriage. When two people are getting married the priest is feeding them with nuts and honey to make a strong and sugared marriage.
