1. 1. The Institute of Creative Art for Progress in Africa ICAPA conducted theBREAKING THE SILENCE WRITERS WORKSHOPwhere young and emerging writers from Zimbabwe met with internationally acclaimedcolleagues Tsitsi Dangarembga & Madeleine Thien.
2. 2. The workshop took place atthe Spanish EmbassyLibrary during theInternational Images FilmFestival for Women 2012BREAKING THE SILENCE isa storytelling project aboutviolence in the Zimbabweansociety.ICAPA will publish the shortstories from this projectas an anthology very soon.
3. 3. Material for these short stories was collected through a call forstories on violence in Zimbabwe.Canadian writer Madelein Thien was visibly moved.
