The most valuable and outstanding monument of the Azerbaijan 18th century is Sheki Khans' palace. It was constructed in 1761-1762 as a summer residence of Muhammed Hasan Khan (grandson of Gadzhi Chelebi). Once great Turkish poet Nazim Hikmat visited the Sheki palace and said “If Azerbaijan would not have other ancient building, it could be enough to speak only about the Sheki Khans’ palace”

The unique beauty two-

storied building of Sheki Khans' palace amazes

with its magnificent interior and exterior.

Khan's Palace 500 year old Plane Tree

Along with its pool and plane trees, the summer residence is the only remaining structure from the larger palatial complex inside the Sheki Khans' Fortress, which once included a winter palace, residences for the Khan's family and servants' quarters

The platan in the yard of the khan palace, in Shaki. The tree was planted in 1530. Its height is 34 m. Platans in the yard of the khan palace have been registered in the "Red Book" so that to cut them off is prohibited. They belong to eastern platan sort.

Measuring thirty-two meters by eight and a half meters on the exterior, the summer residence is a two-story masonry structure elongated on the north-south axis and covered with a wooden hipped roof with long eaves
