India Tourism and Industrial Fair - The fair brought the best Indian companies together in Chennai.
The 40th India Tourism and Industrial Fair was held at the iconic Island Fair Grounds near the city center of Chennai,which facilitated greater public access to the venue. The Tamil Nadu State Government and the Tamil Nadu TourismDevelopment Corporation worked assiduously to ensure all facilities for participants and visitors at the fair groundswere up and running.
The 70 day event concluded on March 20, 2014. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, one of the mainsponsors of the event this year, claimed that over 11 million people attended the event this year.
Over 47 state government departments and tourism development corporations participated in the event.
The best stallsand pavilions at the fair ground were given awards across a plethora of categories. Since Tamil Nadustate was hosting this year’s fair, the awards were given out by Mr. R. Kannan, Additional Secretary of Tourism,Culture and Religious Endowments.
