Activities
• Practical reference to assist with tourism policy making and legislation

Activity 1.2.2 RT Capacity Building Seminars

Activities
• Seminars being delivered at provincial / local / business level in target destinations in order to give RT a key priority in tourism practices
• Training in RT planning, operations and management, product development and marketing etc.
Results
• Training materials and guides prepared
• 18 RT training courses with excess of 710 participants have been conducted for communities, authorities, accommodations, tour operators and trainers
Issues
• Training content / duration could be expanded to other RT topics
Activity 1.2.3 VNAT - Green Lotus for Hotels

Activities
• ESRT assistance to VNAT Hotel Department in the further development of the Green Lotus Programme
• Concept of this Eco-label for hotels has been assessed and will be followed-up by an implementation strategy
• Awareness Raising Session at the VITM Conference
Results
• Framework for web development, dissemination and associated awareness campaign has being developed
Issues
• Green Lotus needs to generate interest from the private sector, namely VITA, VHA and hotels

• Economic impact of statistics being developed through the delivery of TA to VNAT

• Youtube counted 42,152 views which sums up in total to 120,551 views in total.
• Slide Share presence with 105 presentations uploaded to date was viewed 31,000 times and downloaded 537 times in the first six months of 2014
• Facebook is recorded with 432 likes from the launch on February 11, 2014
• Newsletter no.6 and no. 7 have been circulated electronically 3,200 recipients of ESRT mailing list and 3,000 copies (each 1500) via post and at events
• Media – TV and radio coverage; framework for video development
The ‘Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme’ (2011 - 2015) is a European Union funded sector programme within the main activities in 1) Policy support and institutional strengthening, 2) Product competitiveness and public-private dialogue and 3) Vocational
education and training.
