As this is the fourth and final part of the series. And in this final slice of the series, we will be talking about Tagging and Category.

Here are the 4 points to effectively complete your YouTube Video optimization via Tags and Category…

1. Start with the keywords you used in your description, and end off with a few related tags. Don’t use too many tags, around 5-7 is a good number.

 

2. Use a combination of multi-word and space delimited tags to ensure maximum visibility. Remember to use descriptive keyword tags as these greatly improve the chances of matching search phrases.

3. Where possible, use a mix of popular keywords as well as niche ones so that your video is associated with all possible search patterns.

4. Categories are an often-overlooked aspect of Video SEO, so don’t forget to select the most appropriate category for your video. If you regularly post “how-to” videos you should post some to the “How to” category, and some to categories more closely linked to the actual subject. Monitor the performance of both on YouTube to see which category generates the most views for your videos.

YouTube is the second largest search engine on the internet, next to Google. So if you are just focusing on increasing your business’ ranking on Google search results alone, the chance of success will be lesser.
