WIZARDS EVENT REPORTER

COMMON ISSUES

Chris McGuire Ottawa, Canada

Page 2: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

Cannot enroll as a judge at a

Regular REL event you are judging

and playing in

• Make sure you are entered into the event as a

judge first, then add yourself as a player

Page 3: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

Blank page comes out when printing

seatings at the beginning of the event

• Either user Multiprint, or print the pairings or

other information first; seatings should then

print successfully

Page 4: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

Get a “Country is Invalid” error

when trying to enroll a player

• Add the player to the Local Players database,

then enroll the player from Local Players

Page 5: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

Missing Penalties tab during the

event

• Click the Add Judges button, and then close

the Add Judges window. Penalties tab should

reappear.

Page 6: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

Wrong player/judge name appears

when entering a DCI number

• Check Local Players database for multiple

instances of the number in question and

remove those instances

Fixed seating arrangements end up

with incorrect/shared table number

• In the Edit Matches screen, remove all byes first

• Unpair matches sharing same table number, then attempt to manually add pairs in desired table number order (first pair entered gets the lowest number available)

• If adding the first pair results in a new conflict, repeat the process (bubbling up)

• May want to consider removing all tables in the affected range and re-entering them manually in one fell swoop

• May also want to consider making changes to results slips by hand if range is too large.

Print Playoffs option gives a “Object

reference not set to an instance of an

object” error

• Choose to Print Pairings like in Swiss rounds

instead, or hand-draw the bracket

Page 9: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

No option to create a Top 8 Draft

pod in a Sealed Deck tournament

• Manually create and hand-draw the draft pod

• Manually create the matches in WER for each

playoff round as per the MTR

Players not being dropped after

losing in the single-elimination

rounds of the Top 8 of a tournament

where Top 8 was based on standing

• Current workaround: Drop losing players

when entering results in the Rounds tab

Page 11: Wizards event reporter by chris mc guire

When dropping both participants of a match,

one via the Results tab and the other using the

Players tab, one of the dropped players

continues to be listed in the standings while

the other player is not.

• Enter the result, then drop both players using

the same method (either through Players tab or

through Rounds tab)

• Be extra vigilant when pairing players for each

round to ensure that the player was dropped

correctly and the correct number of players in

the tournament is displayed

DISASTER RECOVERY

Name]\Application Data\Wizards of the Coast\Event Reporter

– Windows 7 & 8: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Wizards of the Coast\Event Reporter

• Relaunch WER

• If WER is functional again, reimport Local Players database and saved events
