“Have I gone Mad?”
1. Do I really need another person in the office?
Do we need to do this job at all?
Can this job be automated?
Can it be outsourced?
... if the honest answer to these questions is NO --> let’s look at hiring a person internally
2. Do we really need internal IT staff?
Are there free apps available to do this task?
Are there paid apps available to do this task?
Is there a subscription based Cloud option?
Can it be outsourced?
Is it a project that I can get an external specialist to do for me?
If I can’t find a different (or cheaper) solution, then
maybe...we need to hire another
person:
Somebody that fits our Culture
3. What type of person do we need?
Do you fit our company’s purpose and vision?
Do you share the same core values?
Do you have what it takes?
Will you complement the team and lift the overall performance?
Will you make me (the hiring person) look good?
