What's the Difference Among the Google satellite maps,
Electronic maps and Terrain maps
Google online map includes Satellite maps, Electronic maps, Terrain maps. After open the website of online Google map, you can switch the three types of maps by clicking the left corner.
When it display the Electronic map, move the mouse to the top left corner of the map and it will show the download menu, select the "Terrain" in the menu, you can switch to the online terrain maps, cancel the selection you can switch it to the electronic map. As it shown below.
When
display online electronic map or terrain maps, click the left corner of the map small pictures can be switched to an online satellite maps , as shown below.
When it currently displayed online satellite maps ,click on the left of the map view small pictures can be switched to an electronic map ( if the " Terrain " option is not selected ) or surface topographic map ( if the " Terrain " option has been selected ) , as shown below.
The Features of the Google Satellite Map
Satellite map ,it is the satellite imagery consists of images of Earth or other planets collected by artificial satellites. It is a thematic map showing data by area. Color or shade intensities relate to the magnitudes of values in given areas are used to map data.Open the Google Maps website we can see the satellite map. General city can get to 20 level, but 19 level is the best. More than 19 level of the data cannot get the high definition, it looks like enlarged one based on 19. Google online satellite map as shown below.

The Feature of the Google Electronic Map
Electronic map can only show the road network , attractions , banks and other hot information. Through the traditional vector maps for color and then slicing beautification process map slices (called "tiles"), Google's online electronic map shown below.

The Features of the Terrain Maps
Terrain Maps is the displaying the surface topography. It is the slice images of making the traditional DEM data to match colors and rendering. It can reflect the real situation of the mountain and downs. The surface topographic data level of Google can only get to the 16 level largest, 14-16 will display the contour lines, online surface topography is shown below.
