Built‐in Mobile Content EditorUsers can create, review and edit Microsoft Office documents within the ShareFile app including: edit text, track changes, spell check, print, highlight, insert and present in slideshow mode. Users can also annotate Adobe PDF files and leverage all editing and annotation capabilities even when offline.

IT can then restrict the use of third‐party content editors preventing employees from storing copies of sensitive data within those apps.

Citrix also believes that the follow‐me data strategy should not be limited to the data stored in ShareFile. Enterprises have large volumes of data residing in existing network shares and migrating the data to a new platform would be a challenging task for IT teams. To eliminate the need for massive data migration while extending the benefits of the data sharing service to existing data platforms, Citrix unveiled StorageZone Connectors for network shares. Working in conjunction with customer‐managed StorageZones, this feature will enable users instant mobile access to data on existing network files shares via the ShareFile apps for iPad and iPhone (support for other devices is coming soon). Users will be able to access data from network file shares, which otherwise cannot be accessed outside of the corporate network or on mobile devices. By providing a single point of access for data residing in a data‐sharing service (ShareFile) and network shares, Citrix makes StorageZone Connectors an Industry‐leading feature. We are also announcing that we have extended StorageZones to include the ability to access existing network file shares and Sharepoint sites, so that even files not directly managed by ShareFile can be delivered to users' mobile devices for optimal productivity.

ShareFile Sync for Windows is optimized for the unique requirements of virtual desktops. Other sync tools only support private / assigned desktops and incur extra storage customers, whereas ShareFile Sync for Windows is optimized for pooled VDI and hosted shared (XenApp published desktops).
